Why you should book a videographer?

Why should I have hired a Videographer for our wedding?
 
You may be asking yourself some version of this question. I wish I had asked myself the same while planning my own wedding 10 years ago.  Although TikTok and Instagram didn’t exist in 2010 and YouTube had just barely taken off, looking back now, I wish I had a video, highlight clip, or something which captured the tone of the day to revisit from time to time.  Quite frequently our now 7-year old son asks why he wasn’t invited to the wedding.  To be able to go back and show him a video to make him feel part of the occasion would help the never ending slew of questions that randomly come about.  Not to mention, a reel reminding my husband that he did say he’d help with the dishes (in good times and in bad) I’d be forever grateful to have in my back pocket!

What I can remember from the day was that it was cold!  October 1st I was reassured would be perfect whether but it indeed was not perfect for a sleeveless dress and open toed shoes.  My step daughter shivered her way down the isle and could be found huddling behind her grandma to seek shelter from the wind.  I also remember shedding a few tears during our vows and laughing during my sister’s toast at the reception.  I cannot, however, remember what my husband said that moved to me to tears or what specifically was spoken from my sister that was so funny.  I wish I had a video of these keys moments showing what lead to the many emotions that were brought to the surface throughout the day.  

These are just a few of the many reasons why my husband and I decided to start our own wedding videography company.  If you’re at all on the fence for hiring a videographer or contemplating if it’s really necessary, my word of advise, do it!  Nothing else can bring back the raw emotions of the day or showcase the words carefully chosen by those closest to you during one of the most important days of your life like a video.
